Solovino, or “Solo” for short, was a dog who had faced it all. He was sick, exhausted, and starving, barely hanging on. His last effort to survive was finding a quiet spot on a stranger’s porch to rest. Little did he know, that porch would become the place where his new life would begin.
The woman who lived in the house couldn’t just walk past this old, worn-out dog. She felt sorry for him and decided to feed him. She named him Solovino, which means “he came alone” in Spanish—a fitting name for a dog who had lived a lonely life. After some time, the woman realized Solo had made himself at home on her porch and reached out to Rocket Dog Rescue for help. Before long, he was taken to a shelter in San Francisco.
At the shelter, Solo visited the vet, and it didn’t take long to discover that no one seemed interested in adopting him. He spent the next year and a half hopping from one foster home to another. But everything changed when Carol Messina stumbled upon Solo’s picture online. It was love at first sight.
When Messina met Solo in person, she knew he was meant to be part of her family. But Solo, still confused and unsure, was hesitant. He didn’t know what was happening, but he was about to find out.
