Sometimes, kids have a way of leaving us speechless. Their pure intentions are undeniable, but their actions? Often, they’re nothing short of a mystery.
That’s exactly what happened to Stephanie Brown when her 4-year-old son, Dominic, casually brought home an unexpected guest—a baby deer!
It all unfolded during a family vacation at Massanutten Resort in Virginia. Stephanie had told Dominic they’d be leaving soon, so he went outside to play one last time. What she didn’t expect was for him to return moments later, hand in hoof with a fawn.
It was like something straight out of a Disney movie. The little deer, completely unbothered by humans, stood calmly at their cabin door. Stephanie couldn’t believe her eyes. How had this wild creature and her son become instant best friends? The fawn even posed patiently while she snapped photos and recorded videos.
Dominic, clearly smitten, decided to name his new friend “Flash,” inspired by the speedy superhero from DC Comics.
“I was in total shock,” Stephanie later shared. “I kept thinking, ‘This can’t be real. My mind must be playing tricks on me.’ But for Dominic, it was just natural. They were completely in sync.”
When Stephanie posted the photos online, the internet couldn’t get enough. Comments poured in from around the world. One person wrote, “They look like lifelong friends. So precious!” Another gushed, “Your son and his buddy are absolutely adorable!”
