Her Unibrow Is More Than a Feature—It’s a Movement
Sophia Hadjipanteli isn’t your typical beauty icon, and that’s exactly why she’s become one. With her striking unibrow and unapologetic attitude, the 26-year-old model is challenging everything society says about beauty. But her journey hasn’t been easy.
Sophia, the founder of the #UnibrowMovement, has faced relentless trolling online, with critics even sending her death wishes simply because she dares to be different. But she refuses to let the negativity dim her light. Instead, she’s using it to fuel her mission: to make the world a kinder, more inclusive place for future generations.
“I get hate comments every single day,” Sophia shared in an interview with the Daily Star. “People aren’t used to seeing someone embrace something they think is ‘unattractive.’”
The London-based model, who is a first-generation Greek Cypriot American, believes the hate stems from insecurity. “It bothers them to see me flaunt something they could never do because they’re so conditioned to one form of beauty,” she explained.
But Sophia isn’t backing down. “If normalizing something like a unibrow means future generations face less criticism, it’s all worth it,” she said.
More Than Just a Statement
For Sophia, her unibrow—affectionately named “Veronika”—isn’t a gimmick. It’s a personal choice and a reflection of her heritage. “I like how it looks,” she told the Daily Star. “I don’t do this for attention. If anything, the backlash makes me want to push boundaries even further.”
Her confidence didn’t come out of nowhere. Sophia credits her Cypriot family for helping her see her unique features as a source of pride. “In my family, thick brows were just normal,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “When your dad and brother have great eyebrows, you don’t feel self-conscious about yours.”
But would she ever consider changing her signature look? Not until society catches up. “Until people start to accept this feature, I won’t feel ready to move on from it,” she said.
Redefining Beauty, One Brow at a Time
Sophia’s boldness has earned her half a million Instagram followers and collaborations with brands like Hugo Boss, Valentino, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Yet, her impact goes far beyond the runway.
Through her advocacy and unapologetic authenticity, Sophia is proving that beauty isn’t one-size-fits-all. She’s standing up for those who feel pressured to conform and showing the world that confidence is the most stunning feature of all.
