In today’s world, many people live on a fixed income. For seniors, especially, this can make it tough to meet all their needs. For some, it’s a choice between food and medicine. And when things get even tighter—like not having enough to fill up the gas tank—it’s a real struggle, especially for doctor visits or errands.
But every once in a while, someone comes along to make things right. That’s exactly what happened to one elderly woman in Michigan when a kind-hearted police officer stepped in.
Seth Kazz was working at his family’s Citgo gas station in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, when he noticed an elderly lady trying to get some gas. She was walking slowly with a cane, struggling just to make it to the counter. When she reached it, she only had $3 for gas.

Seth wasn’t the only one who noticed her. A police officer, who was standing behind her, saw the situation and decided to step in. He watched with concern as the woman, after paying for her gas, was left with nothing in her pocket.
The officer then followed her outside to her car, gently told her to sit down, and went back inside. Seth, seeing the whole thing unfold, volunteered to pump her gas for her. But the officer didn’t stop there—he wanted to do more.
“He came back with $20 in his hand and said, ‘Hang tight,’” Seth recalled. “The officer paid for the rest of her gas out of his own pocket.”
The woman was deeply moved. After talking with her, the officer learned that she had recently lost her husband and was struggling every month to pay the bills. This small act of kindness made a huge difference for her. Without it, she would have likely run out of gas before making it anywhere.
Seth couldn’t help but be inspired by what he had seen. “With all the negative stories about police officers these days, this one really stood out,” he said. “This officer didn’t just do his job, he showed true compassion. We need to respect and appreciate them for the good they do.”
Seth shared this beautiful moment with Love That Matters, knowing that the officer’s kindness was something worth celebrating. “It’s stories like these that remind us there are still good people out there,” he said. “Thank you, officer, for showing kindness when it was needed most.”
It’s easy to forget, but this officer’s generosity proves that even the smallest acts can make a world of difference. Let’s spread the good vibes and share this heartwarming story to remind everyone that kindness is still alive and well.
