Fashion Week is no stranger to bizarre outfits. From over-the-top designs to “What were they thinking?” moments, it’s a spectacle of creativity. But this time, an unexpected twist left the audience in stitches—though not before they were left wondering if it was all part of the show.
Picture this: a man strutting down the runway in what can only be described as garbage couture. Dressed in a trash bag poncho, swimming trunks, and a shower cap, he confidently walked the catwalk at New York Fashion Week. Surprisingly, no one in the crowd seemed to question it—at first.
The show, hosted by social media agency Creators Inc, was packed with fashion enthusiasts, all too used to quirky, unconventional designs. So, when the intruder casually blended in with his… unique outfit, the audience thought it was just another bold fashion statement.
That is, until security made their move.
The man’s confidence began to waver as he nervously glanced over his shoulder, and before he could make his grand exit, a burly security guard tackled him mid-strut. The stunned crowd watched as he was escorted off the stage, leaving everyone wondering, “Was this for real?”
The internet quickly fell in love with the chaos. One viewer quipped, “That’s not garbage—it’s garbagé!” Another joked, “Honestly, that outfit fits right in. Shows how trash these runway looks are.” Some even praised his “trash bag drip,” with one person commenting, “Immaculate vibes.”
The mystery man was later identified as YouTuber Fred Beyer, known for his elaborate pranks. Fred appeared to confirm his latest stunt by sharing a screenshot from the show and teasing a new video: “Banger dropping tmmr, 5pm EST.”
Whether this was a genuine prank or a cleverly planned collaboration remains unclear. But it’s not the first time someone has pulled off a stunt like this.
In 2016, two teens, Kevin Nguyen and TJ Khayatan, placed a pair of glasses on the floor of an art gallery, fooling visitors into thinking it was an exhibit. The “installation” even became a popular photo spot for unsuspecting tourists.
One thing’s for sure: moments like these remind us not to take art—or fashion—too seriously. And who knows? Maybe plastic ponchos and shower caps will be the must-have look for A/W 23.
So, what do you think—was this runway stunt a creative masterpiece or just plain trash? Share your thoughts (and maybe a laugh) with your friends!
