Terrifying Find in Woman’s Vacuum Will Make You Check Yours ASAP

Vacuuming is already a dull, thankless task, but for one Australian woman, it turned into a full-blown horror movie.

TikToker @lucetteromy was just tidying up her room, going about her usual cleaning routine, when she unknowingly sucked up something that would rob her of sleep for three nights straight.

She had vacuumed behind a cushion on her floor, thinking nothing of it—until she checked the dust compartment. What she found staring back at her? One of Australia’s most terrifying creatures: a massive funnel-web spider.

For those unfamiliar with these eight-legged nightmares, funnel-web spiders are among the deadliest in the world. Their venom can be fatal in as little as 15 minutes, according to The Guardian.

In her TikTok video, @lucetteromy recounts the moment with sheer disbelief:

“So this is from one day when I was vacuuming my room when I was living in Australia. And I vacuumed behind the cushion that was on my floor, and sucked up a funnel-web spider, which is one of the most deadly spiders in the world.”

She then gives viewers a close-up look at the oversized arachnid, confirming that yes—this nightmare was just chilling in her bedroom.

The realization hit hard. She admitted she cried hysterically for an hour and refused to sleep in her room for three whole days. Because let’s be real—who could sleep after that?

And if that wasn’t enough, her raw panic is fully captured in the video, where she can be heard gasping:

“Oh my god, this is the most fterrifying thing ever.”

The clip sent shivers down viewers’ spines, with many swearing they’d never vacuum again without checking the contents first.

Not All Spider Encounters End in Horror…

Of course, not everyone reacts this way to a surprise spider roommate. Take, for instance, a British man who found an enormous Australian spider lurking in his home.

Instead of calling pest control, he did something unexpected—he canceled the call and found a friend willing to adopt the spider rather than have it killed.

While Australia’s wildlife has a habit of giving people heart attacks, it’s nice to know that not everyone sees these creatures as pure nightmare fuel.

Still, the next time you pick up your vacuum cleaner, you might want to double-check what’s inside before you go to bed.
