Tipping culture has reached some unexpected places—but a bridal store? That’s exactly what happened to one woman, and the internet can’t stop talking about it.
TikTok user Ina Josipović recently shared her shocking experience after shopping for her wedding dress. In a now-viral video, she asked, “What’s the weirdest place you’ve been asked to tip?”—and her answer had everyone stunned.
A Tip on a Wedding Dress?
Ina explained that she had found her dream dress at the very first bridal shop she visited. But when it was time to pay, something completely unexpected happened.

“They flipped their little iPad around… and asked for a tip,” she said, still in disbelief. “When I tell you I full-on froze—I think they saw the blood leave my body.”
Shocked, she turned to her best friend for help. Speaking in another language, she asked if tipping at a bridal store was normal. Her friend’s answer? A firm “No.”
How Much Would That Even Cost?
Ina did some quick math, realizing that a 10% tip on a $2,000 dress would mean an extra $200—and for even pricier dresses, it would be hundreds more.
She considered tipping around $50 but decided against it, saying it felt “too embarrassing.” After all, she pointed out, retail workers don’t typically receive tips.

“Tipping is kind of weird lately,” she concluded.
The Internet Reacts
The comments section exploded with opinions. Many agreed that tipping for a wedding dress was beyond ridiculous.
One person wrote, “I literally have no shame just pressing ‘No Tip.’”
Even a bridal stylist chimed in, saying, “I agree—10% is crazy. We work hard, but tipping is never required.”

Others criticized tipping culture in general, with one commenter venting: “The tipping culture in the US is out of control.” Another person added, “I was even asked to tip when checking into a hotel!”
