Most people choose pets like cats, dogs, birds, or even mice. But what if I told you one woman has a pet bear? Sounds incredible, right? Let’s dive into her story.
Meet Veronika Dichka and Archie, a brown bear. The two have been spotted fishing together at a lake in Novosibirsk, Russia. But how did this unlikely duo become best friends?
Archie has lived his entire life in captivity at a safari park. Releasing him back into the wild wasn’t an option. Years of living behind fences meant he wouldn’t survive on his own. That’s where Veronika stepped in.
“We rescued him from the safari park, but we can’t release him into the wild because he’s never lived there,” Veronika explained. Instead of leaving him behind, she brought Archie home. For the past two years, they’ve been inseparable.
“Archie spends every day with us and is crazy about water,” Veronika shared. “He loves visiting new places. We’re like family—we share meals, he sleeps in my arms when he’s scared, and he even hides behind me.”
Their bond is heartwarming and unique, a real-life fairy tale.
