Bentley is a dog with a past that would break anyone’s heart. This sweet Bloodhound was abandoned by four different families before finally finding his forever home with KaTarra Taylor. He came with a lot of baggage—trust issues, health problems, and a lot of emotional scars. But with KaTarra, Bentley’s life was about to take a beautiful turn.
When she first adopted him, KaTarra lived in a tiny two-room apartment. Bentley, weighing in at a whopping 120 pounds, was clearly a bit cramped in that space. So, KaTarra did what any good dog mom would do—she started looking for a bigger place with more room for Bentley to roam.
But every time she found a potential house, the landlords refused to rent to her because of Bentley’s size. After hitting dead ends over and over again, KaTarra made a big decision. She bought a townhouse in 2018, one with a spacious backyard. “No one wanted to rent out to a person with a dog that size,” she said. But with that move, Bentley’s world was about to get a whole lot better.
Soon after, KaTarra’s boyfriend, Nick, and his dog joined the family. Together, they turned the backyard into a doggy paradise. Bentley, who loves lounging on the grass, now had a perfect place to relax at home, just like he does at the park. Nick put in a ton of effort to transform the dull, concrete backyard into a dreamy retreat for their beloved pup.
When Bentley first stepped into his new oasis, he immediately sank into the grass and stayed there for hours, soaking it all in. This space wasn’t just a backyard—it was a place where Bentley could finally feel at peace. It was exactly what he needed, especially to help with his emotional struggles.
Even though Bentley still battles with some psychological issues, he’s making progress every day. And it’s clear that with all the love and care from KaTarra and Nick, Bentley’s journey to healing is only just beginning. After all, every dog deserves a yard to call their own, especially one as deserving as Bentley.
