A husband thought he had the perfect excuse to sneak away for a week. “Honey,” he began, “I’ve been invited to go fishing in China with my boss. It’s a big deal—could mean a promotion for me!”
He didn’t stop there. “Can you pack me enough clothes for a week? Don’t forget my fishing rod and tackle box. Oh, and throw in my new blue silk pajamas!” He assured her he’d swing by the house to grab his things before heading out directly from work.

A week later, the husband came home looking a mix of tired and triumphant. “How was the fishing trip?” she asked with genuine curiosity. “Did you catch anything?”
“Oh, tons!” he boasted. “Salmon, bluegill, even some swordfish. It was amazing! But hey, why didn’t you pack my blue silk pajamas?”
Without missing a beat, his wife delivered the perfect zinger: “I did. They’re in your fishing box.”
