An elementary school teacher in New Jersey has become the center of a heated online debate, but not for her teaching methods. Roxsana Diaz, who goes by @ToyboxDollz on Instagram, has amassed over a million followers thanks to her bold, figure-hugging outfits that some people find “inappropriate.”
The art teacher often shares photos of her outfits—sometimes snapped inside her classroom. In a few pictures, her students are visible, though their faces are blurred to protect their privacy. While some followers celebrate her style and self-confidence, others criticize her for wearing tight-fitting clothes around young children.
One of her recent posts, featuring her in a pair of fitted jeans and a snug top while surrounded by students, drew mixed reactions. Alongside the photo, Roxsana shared a heartfelt message encouraging teachers to focus on their mental health. She wrote:
“Being an educator is so much harder than people will ever understand, especially people who’ve never been teachers. We’re overworked, underpaid, and trusted with the most valuable treasures—other people’s children. If we don’t take care of our mental health, we can’t give our best to the kids.”
She ended her caption by offering mental health resources for struggling teachers. But instead of appreciating her thoughtful message, many critics zeroed in on her clothing.

One commenter wrote, “This is disgusting. Your brand is all about being a ‘sexy teacher.’ Leave the kids out of it.” Another added, “You’re contradicting yourself—claiming it’s about education, but posting photos like this.”
Despite the backlash, many of her followers defended her. “A smart and beautiful lady inside and out! Keep up God’s work, girl,” one person wrote. Another chimed in, “Criticize the broken education system, not this amazing teacher! You’re doing great, Roxsana.”

In a 14-minute livestream, Roxsana addressed the negativity head-on. She emphasized her passion for teaching, sharing how her students frequently reach out to her—even during summer break—because they love her art lessons so much.
“I’m a really, really good teacher,” she said. “I teach babies. They’re not thinking about my outfits—they’re thinking about art. And I love teaching them.”
For Roxsana, the focus is clear: empowering her students through creativity and self-expression. And while trolls might fixate on her wardrobe, her fans—and her students—see her for who she truly is: an inspiring educator making a difference.
