The internet loves dog photos—there’s no debate there. But one particular dog pic has sent Twitter into a frenzy, leaving people utterly baffled.
Twitter user Arthur Gubert shared an innocent snap of his dog hanging out in the garden. But instead of melting hearts, it had people doing double-takes. Why? Because at first glance, the pup appears to have no head!
The photo shows the dog sitting in a strange position, with what looks like a scar where its head should be. Naturally, chaos erupted online. Some were confused, others were horrified, and a few just couldn’t stop staring.

Gubert posted the image with a caption (translated from Spanish): “This is what a three-legged dog looks like licking its tail. Now you’ve seen it all.” And he wasn’t wrong—because the internet definitely hadn’t seen anything like this before.
The post went viral, quickly making its way across Twitter, Facebook, and other social platforms. People flooded the comments with reactions ranging from pure confusion to hilarious jokes.
One user quipped, “How does he eat?” Another, clearly distressed, wrote, “I’m sorry, but the dog has no head. Put him down, he is probably suffering.”
Others jumped straight into conspiracy mode, with one person dramatically asking, “Who would be sick enough to do this to an animal?” Meanwhile, another, in full panic mode, typed, “Oh no no no no no! Where Head Dog?! Why Cut People?! Poor Dog Head!!!”
Thankfully, not everyone was fooled. Some observant users pointed out that the “scar” was actually the site of the dog’s amputated leg. Others noticed a glimpse of its blue collar, revealing that the dog was simply turning its head in an awkward position.
“Some people are so gullible. That incision is from his amputated leg. He’s probably just biting his butt,” one user clarified.
Another added, “You can literally see part of his collar. His head is just turned around. Come on, people!”

As it turns out, the pup had recently lost a leg but was otherwise perfectly fine. His owner just happened to snap a photo at the exact moment that created a bizarre optical illusion.
And in case anyone still had doubts, someone even found an older picture of the dog—head and all.
