“Enough Is Enough”: Mom Stands By Son Who Fought Back Against Bully

A Missouri mom has the internet on her side after defending her son, who was suspended for standing up to a bully. Allison Davis, fed up with years of school inaction, took to Facebook to share her son Drew’s story—and people can’t stop cheering her on. Her post quickly went viral, racking up over 145,000 shares and thousands of supportive comments.

Davis revealed the heartbreaking reality her son endured: relentless bullying that included taunts, threats, and even incidents caught on video. For years, Drew turned to the school for help, but every plea seemed to fall on deaf ears. “For years, the school has failed Drew,” Davis wrote, venting her frustration with their inaction.

At the start of the school year, Davis sent yet another email, hoping to finally get some resolution. The school’s response? A no-contact contract between Drew and his bully. Unsurprisingly, the so-called solution didn’t work. Things hit a boiling point when the bully turned his attention to Drew’s 11-year-old brother. Drew decided enough was enough—and he punched the bully.

That single act of self-defense earned Drew a suspension, but his mom had no regrets. In her post, she proudly defended her son, pointing out that he’d done everything right: asking for help, following the rules, and giving the adults countless chances to step in. When none of that worked, he did what he had to do.

Parents and strangers alike flooded the comments with support. Many praised Drew for standing up for himself when no one else would, and some even shared their own stories of battling bullying. “Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands,” one commenter wrote.

Davis’s post sparked such an outpouring of support that someone set up a GoFundMe for Drew, originally aiming to raise $300. It quickly surpassed that goal, showing just how much the story resonated with people.

While Davis is still furious at the school for letting things escalate to this point, she hopes her story will shine a light on a larger issue: how schools often fail to protect kids from bullying.
