That day, a fire broke out in the kitchen of the W-Underdogs shelter, sending smoke billowing through the building. As chaos unfolded, Keith didn’t hesitate—he ran straight into the flames.

“I was nervous as hell,” Keith later admitted. “All that smoke—I was scared to go in. But I think God put me there to save those dogs.” His love for animals gave him the courage he needed. “Dogs are our best friends,” he said. “I couldn’t let them die.”

Inside the shelter were six dogs and ten cats, all trapped as the fire spread. One by one, Keith rescued every single one of them.

Gracie Hamlin, the founder of W-Underdogs, couldn’t believe his bravery. “Keith is our guardian angel,” she said. “When the firefighters arrived, they didn’t want to handle the animals—but Keith was already there, pulling out dogs and cats like a hero.”
