When 5-year-old Hunter Weiss tragically passed away in a truck accident, his father had one heartfelt request. He asked a few of his biker friends to ride in the funeral procession, knowing how much Hunter loved motorcycles. Expecting maybe 100 to 200 riders, Hunter’s family was stunned by how many showed up to honor the little boy.
Hunter, from Magna, Utah, was at his grandparents’ house when the accident happened, according to ABC News. His dad, a passionate biker and club member, passed down his love for motorcycles to Hunter. After spreading the word about the funeral to some friends, the news quickly took off on social media.
On Saturday morning, the family was in for a huge surprise. The entire bike club showed up to pay their respects. In fact, over 2,000 bikers joined the procession.
A fire truck from the Greater Salt Lake Unified Fire Authority even joined in, proudly hanging an American flag and flashing its lights along the route.
Leading the parade was Hunter’s dad, riding with Hunter’s bike and helmet by his side. Right behind him, Hunter’s family followed, trailed by the massive group of bikers. After an eight-minute ride, as reported by Fox 13 Salt Lake City, many of the bikers approached Hunter’s casket to offer their respects, some through prayer, others by leaving handkerchiefs.
One of Hunter’s relatives took a moment to thank the bikers for their incredible gesture, assuring them that the family would never forget their kindness. The bikers gave Hunter a beautiful tribute, and his family must have been deeply touched by the overwhelming show of love and respect.
