Is This Plane Frozen in Mid-Air? Plane Appears to Defy Gravity in Viral Video

It’s not every day you see a plane seemingly frozen in mid-air, but that’s exactly what TikTok user Tania captured on video—and people can’t stop talking about it.

In a 10-second clip shared last month, Tania films a plane hovering eerily in the sky as she drives underneath it. The video, set to a haunting tune, features the overlay text: “WTF.” And honestly, same.

Tania’s caption added fuel to the mystery: “Glitch in Matrix? This isn’t the first time I’ve seen this in Chicago either.” Naturally, TikTok users flooded the comments section with theories, jokes, and their own bizarre experiences.

“Stuff is starting to happen, strange things. Mark my words, the government is planning something. I just don’t know what yet,” one user wrote ominously.

Another agreed, questioning the laws of physics: “Can’t no plane just sit in idle… yeah, definitely a glitch.”

One commenter, clearly shaken, shared: “I would’ve had to pull over and get out to make sure I was seeing this correctly… This is wicked lol.”

The spookiness didn’t stop there. Many users chimed in with similar stories. “I saw one like this in Kentucky,” one said. “After I drove under it, I turned back to look, and it was gone.”

Another added: “My daughter and I saw one a month ago. We thought we were going crazy!”

But not everyone was convinced the Matrix was crumbling. Some TikTokers brought out their inner physicist to explain what was happening.

“Have you heard of the relativity of motion?” one user asked. “Physics really be messing y’all up,” another joked.

According to experts, the motion of an object can appear different depending on your frame of reference. Brightstorm explains it like this: “Standing on the surface of the Earth, we feel that we are not in motion, but because the Earth is moving, so are we.”

One commenter simplified it: “It’s clearly moving, but because the car is accelerating, it looks more stationary.”

Another theory pointed to airport congestion: “They do this all the time in L.A. Sometimes there are too many planes on the landing strip, so they gotta wait.”

Whether it’s science, an optical illusion, or an actual glitch in the Matrix, one thing is clear: the clip is equal parts creepy and fascinating.

Let’s just hope we’re not actually in a simulation—because if we are, I’m not sure my nerves can take it.
