When online trolls called a man “not cute enough” for his wife, his response was as heartwarming as it was defiant.
Scott, from Houston, and his wife Divine, who hails from the Philippines, have been together for over five years. Their love story is as unique as it is beautiful. It all began in 2017 when Divine accidentally sent Scott a Facebook message. What could’ve been an awkward moment turned into the start of something magical.

After months of chatting, they began a long-distance relationship. By the end of that year, Scott visited Divine in the Philippines and proposed. Four years later, after navigating the challenges of a long-distance relationship, they tied the knot when Divine moved to the U.S.
The couple’s journey didn’t end with “happily ever after”—it grew even bigger. They created a TikTok account to share their lives and quickly gained over 400,000 followers. But with fame came the inevitable flood of negativity, especially from trolls who questioned their relationship.

One particularly cruel comment read: “Wow. He isn’t cute at all. Come on. Be real with us.”
Scott and Divine, however, weren’t about to let the negativity get to them. In a now-viral TikTok video, the couple responded with humor and love. Sitting in their car, Divine turned to Scott and said, “Babe, they say you’re not cute.” Without missing a beat, Scott replied, “I guess it doesn’t really matter. She thinks I’m cute, so…”
Divine didn’t hold back her feelings either, proudly declaring, “Yeah, what you talking about, guys? My husband is very, very handsome.” She added with a smile, “Handsome and handsome and handsome of all the people in the world I know,” sealing her words with a kiss on his cheek.
The video’s comment section was flooded with positivity. One person wrote, “He is a handsome man. With a great sense of humor and confidence. That’s what women want.” Another chimed in, “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Why do people have to hate on others’ happiness? You guys are awesome, and your love can be felt on here.”
What many don’t know is that Scott has lived with Scleroderma, a chronic autoimmune disease, since he was 13, which has affected his appearance. Yet his confidence and love for Divine shine brighter than any cruel words.
Their story is a reminder that love isn’t about meeting societal standards—it’s about connection, trust, and finding joy in one another. Scott and Divine have faced the haters and come out stronger, proving that no amount of trolling can dim their love.
So, the next time you see negativity online, remember Scott’s words: “She thinks I’m cute, so…” Share their story with someone who needs a little reminder that love conquers all!
