Man Wins $50M Lottery—Still Wakes Up at 4:30 AM for Work!

Most of us have fantasized about winning the lottery—quitting our jobs, packing our bags, and living our best lives on a tropical beach. But for one man, hitting the jackpot didn’t come with an immediate retirement plan.

Pierre Richer, a man from Montreal, Canada, woke up at 4:30 AM the day after winning a staggering $50 million in the Lotto Max lottery. Instead of celebrating on a yacht or booking a one-way ticket to paradise, he got dressed and went to work like any other day.

Why? Because he didn’t want to leave his coworkers in a bind.

“I Just Can’t Leave Them Hanging”

Pierre, who works as a driver and head of shipping at a catering company, said he has no plans to quit—at least, not yet.

“For a little while, not for long,” he explained. “But I’ll give it at least a month and see what I’m going to do.”

His reasoning was simple: Without him, the shipping department would be in chaos. So, despite his newfound fortune, he felt a responsibility to show up.

Winning? Meh. Pie Crust? Life-Changing.

If that wasn’t surprising enough, Pierre almost didn’t buy the winning ticket. He only ended up at the Super C store that day because his daughter wanted to grab some discounted pie crust ahead of Thanksgiving.

“With the pie crust being on sale, my daughter went in to get it, and I got the ticket. So, without the pie crust being on sale, I wouldn’t have gone to Super C,” he shared.

Yep—his entire life changed because of pie crust.

His First Reaction? The Chillest Ever.

Pierre didn’t jump up and scream when he found out he was now a multi-millionaire. In fact, his reaction was almost comically low-key.

His girlfriend was the one who broke the news. “I just said, ‘Okay,’ and I walked out,” he recalled.

Even now, he insists he doesn’t feel any different. “I know I’ve won, but my body doesn’t feel any different.”

What’s Next for Pierre?

While he may still be clocking in for now, Pierre does have plans for his winnings. He dreams of buying a new home—not for luxury, but for the simple pleasure of mowing his own lawn.

“I just want to cut the grass at my new place,” he said.

Oh, and a new car is also on the list. Naturally, he’ll also take care of his family financially.

Pierre may be a millionaire now, but one thing’s clear: money didn’t change him.
