It’s always heartbreaking when you pass by an animal shelter. You wish you could take them all home. But imagine how they feel, spending their days in a kennel, waiting to be loved. That’s why animals often moan or howl when you walk by in a shelter — they’re longing for attention.
This story is about Burreaux, a Labrador Retriever mix puppy who desperately wants a forever home. Every time someone talks to him, he responds with a cute high-pitched sound and, most charming of all, an adorable smile.
Courtney Wingate, the Director of the Humane Society of Northwest Louisiana, noticed Burreaux’s winning smile right away. She couldn’t leave him behind, so she took Burreaux and his two siblings out of the shelter. Being a big LSU fan, she named the trio O, Joe, and Burreaux.
She’s hoping to find loving homes for all of them. Joe got adopted right away, but Burreaux and O are still waiting for their chance.
Burreaux’s smile, though, didn’t go unnoticed. His video went viral, gathering 90K views with the caption: “Burreaux begging for attention 😬❤ Oh, and this smiler still needs a home.”
