When it comes to family, love knows no boundaries — not even skin tones. One mom has had enough of people questioning whether her two sons, who look nothing alike, are actually related. So, she decided to set the record straight in the most heartwarming way possible.
Maddie Houser Webb is no stranger to sharing her family life on TikTok. Her page is filled with wholesome moments and Q&A sessions where she addresses curious (and sometimes blunt) questions from followers. But one question seems to pop up again and again: Are her sons really related?

Back in October, Maddie posted a video featuring her two sons, Jaden (15) and Callum (3). The video showed the trio giving a big thumbs up as the text asked, “Are those both your sons?” Maddie and the boys proudly responded with an enthusiastic “Yes!”
But the questions didn’t stop there. One viewer bluntly asked, “Is one of them adopted?” Maddie simply replied, “Nope,” before clarifying that she gave birth to both of them. Yes, they are biologically related — end of story.
Still, not everyone was convinced, so Maddie took things a step further and spoke to People to address the confusion once and for all. She explained that both Jaden and Callum are her biological sons, adding, “My husband and I are Mom and Dad to them both. My sons are technically maternal half-brothers. But we would never say ‘half’.”
She also touched on how being a visible family on social media invites comments — both supportive and curious. “People often remark on how our family looks, but we’ve also met many families like ours. Representation is so important,” she said.
No matter their differences, Maddie’s pride in her sons is clear. Despite the age gap, Jaden and Callum share a special bond. Whether they’re shooting hoops, watching movies, or cheering each other on at sports events, they’re just two brothers who love spending time together. Maddie proudly shared that the family also loves to travel, and her boys go on plenty of adventures side by side.

Support poured in from followers after her viral video, with one person commenting, “People clearly don’t know how genetics work lol. I would assume one has a Black father and one has a white father.” Maddie replied with a straightforward, “100%.”
Other comments praised her beautiful family and called out people for being so obsessed with how siblings should look. One user shared a fascinating story about fraternal twins in their class — one taking after his Kenyan dad, and the other blond and blue-eyed like his mom. “Genetics are wild,” they wrote.
At the end of the day, family is about love, not looks. Maddie’s story is a beautiful reminder that biology doesn’t always look the way people expect — and that’s perfectly okay. Share this heartwarming story with someone who needs a little reminder that love is what makes a family.
