Finding out you’re pregnant is a life-changing moment—but imagine discovering you’re pregnant AGAIN while already expecting! That’s exactly what happened to Deonna “Dee” Fletcher, and her story is nothing short of jaw-dropping.
Dee and her husband, Antonio “T” Livingston, were thrilled when they learned they were expecting their first baby. But just a few weeks later, a second ultrasound turned their world upside down—there were not one, not two, but THREE babies growing inside her!
At first, everything seemed normal. Dee took a pregnancy test, got a positive result, and went in for an ultrasound. “There was one baby, one sac,” she recalled. But a couple of weeks later, she started experiencing severe pain at work, fearing the worst. Rushing to the emergency room, she braced herself for bad news. Instead, doctors delivered an unbelievable revelation—she wasn’t just carrying one baby anymore. She was carrying THREE.
So, how did this happen? Dee experienced an incredibly rare condition called superfetation, where a woman continues to ovulate and gets pregnant again while already pregnant. Doctors explained that she had ovulated twice, but at different times, resulting in the two additional embryos being conceived six days apart from the first baby.
If that wasn’t surprising enough, Dee revealed that she naturally has multiple menstrual cycles per month. “I get my period two to three times a month,” she said. “After I found out I was pregnant, I still got another period. I didn’t know I was going to get pregnant again, but I did.”
When Dee broke the news to her husband, his reaction was priceless. “Of course, the first baby, he was happy. But when he found out it was two more babies, he was just really shocked. He couldn’t believe it,” she said. “It was just so much to take in.”
Fast forward to January 18, 2021—after making it to 32 weeks, Dee delivered three beautiful daughters, Amani, Amber, and Dream, via C-section. Now, the couple also has an 11-month-old son, Antonio Junior (A.J.), making their household even livelier!
Reflecting on the day of the delivery, Dee remembers waking up in pain. “I had started dilating two weeks earlier, so doctors were watching me closely. That morning, I was in so much pain, already four centimeters dilated, and they didn’t want it to go further. So we decided to go ahead with the C-section—it was only two weeks earlier than planned.”
Now, with three toddlers and a baby at home, Dee and Antonio have their hands full—but their hearts are even fuller.
