From Heartbreak to Healing: Coco’s Incredible Recovery Journey

“Coco’s friend was repeatedly fitting, and soon after, Coco also started to fit,” the shelter revealed in a Facebook post. Fortunately, a vet was on-site to provide emergency care. Despite their best efforts, Coco’s friend didn’t survive. Coco, however, began his arduous journey toward recovery.
The shelter soon discovered the heartbreaking cause: Coco was suffering from alcohol withdrawal, a condition rarely seen in dogs. To manage his symptoms and prevent further seizures, he required constant care and sedation for four weeks.
Against all odds, Coco pulled through. Today, he’s off medication and slowly beginning to rediscover the joys of being a regular, playful pup. But while his physical recovery is complete, his emotional wounds will take more time to heal. For this reason, Coco isn’t ready for adoption just yet.
“No one knows exactly how these dogs ended up exposed to alcohol,” the shelter explained, “but what’s clear is that without intervention, Coco wouldn’t have survived.”
The Facebook post detailing Coco’s journey has drawn hundreds of supportive comments and likes. Animal lovers from around the world have applauded the shelter’s dedication.
