On a sunny afternoon in Quebec, Canada, Lisianne was enjoying the peacefulness of her backyard when she spotted something unusual in her garden. Hidden among the bushes, a pair of curious eyes stared back at her. It was a fluffy black cat. Intrigued, she approached cautiously, only to realize the poor thing looked hungry. Without hesitation, she brought out some food and water.
The next day, Lisianne noticed the cat again, wandering around her yard. It didn’t take long for her to realize this cat was a stray. From that day on, she made it her mission to care for the little visitor. She left food and water out every day, even giving the cat a name—Usagi. Slowly but surely, the two formed a bond, and Usagi began trusting her human friend.
Chatons Orphelins Montréal, a local rescue group, shared Lisianne’s story on Facebook, praising her kindness. They wrote, “This lady with a big heart put out food and water to help the cat. Over time, the kitty started getting closer, and their bond grew stronger.”
As the weeks passed, Lisianne noticed something unusual—Usagi’s belly was growing larger. But this wasn’t just from all the meals she’d been enjoying. Lisianne realized her new friend was pregnant. From that moment, she became even more attentive, ensuring Usagi had everything she needed.
When the time came, Usagi gave birth outdoors but continued her daily visits to Lisianne for food. And then, one day, Lisianne stepped outside to find a heartwarming surprise on her porch—Usagi had brought all six of her tiny kittens to meet her!
The kittens, about six weeks old, were adorable but clearly needed help. Lisianne acted quickly. She brought the whole family inside, setting up a safe, cozy room for them. Chatons Orphelins Montréal described the moment: “She brought her six babies back and made her nest at the lady’s house. Their fairy godmother decided to help this little family.”
With the rescue group’s assistance, the kittens received medical care and began learning to trust humans. “The babies were shy at first but started coming out of their shells. Now, they love playing together,” the rescue shared.
Lisianne decided to adopt Usagi, giving her a forever home filled with love. One of the kittens found a new family with Lisianne’s friend, while the remaining five—Taylor, Tynie, Tyana, Tales, and Tito—are awaiting adoption.
