A woman, feeling frustrated and suspicious of her husband for coming home late yet again, decided to take matters into her own hands. Fueled by curiosity—and maybe a touch of drama—she wrote a note that read:
“I’ve had enough and have left you. Don’t bother coming after me.”
Then, she slid under the bed to hide, ready to spy on his reaction.
Moments later, her husband arrived home. She could hear him shuffling around in the kitchen before heading into the bedroom. Her heart raced as she watched him pick up the note from the dresser.
He stared at it for a moment before grabbing a pen and scribbling something down. Then, to her shock, he reached for his phone and called someone.
“She’s finally gone,” he said with what sounded like relief. “Yeah, I know. About time, right? I’m coming over. Wear that sexy French nightie—I love you. Can’t wait to do all those naughty things you like.”
Her heart dropped. Tears welled up in her eyes as she lay frozen under the bed, listening.
Before long, he hung up the phone, grabbed his keys, and headed out. She heard the car start and drive away. Overcome with rage and sadness, she crawled out from her hiding spot, shaking as she reached for the note. What had he written?
With trembling hands, she read his words:
“I can see your feet. We’re out of bread: be back in five minutes.”
Her jaw dropped. All that drama—only for him to outwit her in the most casual way possible!
