In his video, Chad boldly says, “I don’t care how tough you are, you won’t make it through this movie without freaking out!” That’s a bold claim, right? Starring Helen Hunt, Jon Tenney, and Judah Lewis, the film follows a small-town detective (played by Tenney) trying to solve the mysterious disappearance of a 12-year-old boy. It’s got that slow-burn, edge-of-your-seat vibe with plenty of twists. And Chad insists: there’s one scene, exactly 37 minutes in, that’ll make you lose your cool.
Skeptical? So were we. The movie is a mix of crime thriller, horror, and noir, and it’s gotten a solid 75% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. Critics from The Los Angeles Times call it a “sly nail-biter,” while The Hollywood Reporter raves about the plot twists. Sounds like a wild ride, right?
But not everyone agrees with Chad. Some TikTok followers weren’t exactly shaking in their boots. One user said the movie was “meh,” adding, “Not terrible, but I wouldn’t recommend it.” Another joked, “The only scary part was watching him play Overwatch on a MacBook using the trackpad.” Ouch.
