Dating in the modern world is tough. But for one unlucky guy, it got even tougher when a woman decided to fact-check his height—right in the middle of a bar.
A now-viral video shows a woman digging into her bag, pulling out a measuring tape, and letting it dramatically drop to the floor like she’s about to lay the foundation for a skyscraper. The moment, made even more surreal by the background music—Darude’s Sandstorm—feels like something out of a bizarre fever dream.

So, what led to this unexpected height inspection? It’s likely that the guy boasted he was six feet or taller, never expecting to be held accountable for his claim. Or maybe the woman just wanted to make sure she wasn’t being short-changed—literally.
Naturally, the internet had thoughts. The comment section turned into a battlefield of opinions, with many debating whether this kind of behavior was acceptable. One man simply asked, “Does height actually matter that much?”

Of course, it wasn’t long before some took it to extremes. One person joked that men should start bringing scales and makeup wipes to bars in retaliation. Another took it even further, tweeting:
“Forget bouncers—clubs should have tape measures, scales, credit checks, FBI background checks, Instagram reviews, and bank statements at the door.”
While some found the whole thing hilarious, others weren’t impressed. Matchmaker Sofi Papamarko weighed in on the controversy, calling out the unrealistic height expectations some women have when dating.
“One of my biggest pet peeves is when women refuse to date anyone under six feet, automatically dismissing the majority of men—without even giving them a chance,” she wrote in an opinion piece.
She went on to question the reasoning behind it, explaining that many women (regardless of their own height) say they “like to wear heels” or want to “feel like a girl.”
At the end of the day, love isn’t about inches—it’s about connection. So to all the short kings out there, hold your heads high. You deserve to be loved, too.
