Would You Pay a Fine for Your Kid’s Behavior? This Restaurant Thinks You Should!

Taking your kids to a restaurant is a pretty normal thing, right? Well, one place has decided that not all parents should get a free pass.

A restaurant has sparked outrage by slapping customers with a ‘bad parenting’ fee if their kids are deemed too unruly. Yes, you read that right—if your little one gets a bit too loud, you could be hit with an extra charge.

The controversial policy came to light when a customer posted a picture of the restaurant’s menu on Reddit. Right there in black and white, it states: “Adult surcharge: For adults unable to parent.” But there’s no fixed price listed, meaning the staff apparently get to decide just how much your kid’s tantrum is worth.

A Fee for Dessert Sharing?

As if the ‘bad parenting’ charge wasn’t enough, this restaurant has a laundry list of extra fees. Want to split the bill among six or more people? That’ll be an automatic 20% surcharge. Thinking of sharing a dessert with a friend? That’ll cost you an extra $3. Oh, and if you’re paying by card instead of cash, expect to fork over an additional 3.5%.

Oh, and one more rule—you must be respectful at all times. If not? No service for you.

What Are Customers Saying?

Unsurprisingly, parents who’ve dined at the restaurant have some strong opinions. One customer claimed the owner slapped a $50 fee on their bill for “bad parenting”—even though their kids had simply watched a tablet until the food arrived.

Another furious parent warned others to “avoid this place at all costs,” after being called a “bad parent” for letting their kids play near the river. According to the review, the owner told them they should “go to Burger King and Walmart” instead.

Not everyone is against the idea, though. One person argued, “I’ve been to restaurants where kids are running wild. Not sure if this is the right way to handle it, but something needs to be done.”

So, Fair or Just Plain Rude?

With so many parents up in arms, one thing’s for sure—this restaurant has found a way to make headlines. But what do you think? Should restaurants have the right to charge for rowdy kids, or is this just an excuse to squeeze more money out of customers?

Oh, and in case you’re wondering—the restaurant’s WiFi password is “sillybeans.” Because, of course, it is.
