Talent shows are a stage for creativity, laughter, and pure entertainment. While every act deserves its moment of applause, some performances go beyond expectations, leaving a lasting impression—and a whole lot of laughs.
Back in 2017, at New Braunfels Christian Academy in Texas, four fifth-grade boys took their school’s Elementary Talent Show to a whole new level. Their act? Equal parts clever, hilarious, and utterly unexpected.
The boys started off hidden under a mysterious black cloth, building suspense. When they finally revealed themselves, the audience burst into laughter. Why? The boys were dressed as babies, complete with tiny, floppy prosthetic legs that they moved with their arms. The sight alone was comedy gold, but the performance had only just begun.
Their routine combined humor, creativity, and an epic song selection. The act kicked off with an energetic pantomime to Taylor Swift’s “Shake It Off,” immediately getting the crowd on their feet. Then came the highlight: a mock martial arts performance to Carl Douglas’s classic “Kung Fu Fighting.” Picture baby-costumed fifth graders throwing pretend karate chops—it was as absurd as it was genius. The audience couldn’t stop cheering.
And these boys weren’t the only young talents to wow a crowd. In 2014, another group of fifth-graders at Porter Elementary put on a synchronized swimming act—without water! Using a blue plastic sheet as their “pool,” they flawlessly performed coordinated moves to classical music. The audience roared with laughter and applause, proving that imagination knows no bounds.
Both acts have since racked up over 30 million views online, and it’s easy to see why. These kids showed that making people laugh and cheer isn’t about fancy props or perfection—it’s about creativity and heart.
